Medigap Insurance is a short name for Medicare Supplemental Insurance. Medicare is standardized by the Federal Government. Medigap Insurance is provided by Insurance Companies and it is designed to cover the gaps within Medicare. There are currently ten Medigap Plans that are available. These Medigap Insurance Plans are not necessarily available from all insurers in all states. Each Medigap Insurance Company may offer different plans depending on the state.
